Poker is a broad name that encompasses different formats. Among those variations that we can add to the name poker, we have Texas Hold’em, 7 Card Stud, and Pot-Limit Omaha. All these games are quite different from each other.

Texas Hold’em

This is the most popular in the world. Texas Hold’em can be played in several formats and the purpose of all of them is to win chips in every hand that is played.

Each participant will try to be the only player who does not hold back during the four betting rounds before reaching the last phase of the hand in which the cards are shown (Showdown). Or simply to have the best hand in that phase once the hands of all active participants are compared.

To form a hand, each player can combine the five community cards that are drawn in three turns and the two he receives at the beginning of the hand.

7 Card Stud

In Seven-Card Stud, there are five betting rounds instead of four as in Hold’em. The game is played with an ante instead of blind bets. In Stud, there are no common cards. The hands of the players decide the magnitude of the action.

In the first betting round, the player with the lowest card must make an initial bet and in subsequent betting rounds, the player who shows the best card will act first.
